In this conversation Lee Pooley, Director of Coaching and Qualifications at British Canoeing, talks to Simon Westgarth and Dan Wilkinson, from the White Water Technical Group, about the development of the White Water Safety courses.
They discuss how the courses, launching in 2023, aim to provide paddlers at different levels of white water experience and using different craft, with the essential safety knowledge and skills to enjoy their time on the river and keep safe. Simon and Dan explain why and how the courses were developed and the benefits for learners of the changes from the previous White Water Safety and Rescue courses.
